A portion of the concerts performed by the Camerata Singers of Lake have been presented in public buildings, private buildings, or in houses of worship. The latter situation occurs primarily when the concert requires the use of an organ. This page will provide some of the details regarding these alternate sites. Even in these larger spaces, the Board attempts to recreate the ambience of a chamber setting and each concert includes the reception hour where the guests and artists can mingle freely. |

Camerata performed only one concert in this facility (November 1994). It was entitled "Music for a Cathedral" and this facility was |
perfect for the concert in that it closely resembles the baroque cathedrals of Europe. Sounds in this space resound for seconds allowing interplay of the past and the present. |

architecture more closely resembles a stately home than an office building. The architect for the bank was Stanley Anderson. Camerata has held many concerts in this facility. It has also served as the concert site for several Camerata charity functions. One aspect of the "concert in the bank" that particularly delights our concert guests is being served champagne or wine from the teller's windows. Camerata is very grateful to the Northern Trust Company for their long-time support of our organization. |

Knauz Autopark Classic Car Showroom Route 41 and Route 176, Lake Bluff |
Knauz Autopark of Lake Bluff has for many years been an advertiser in our program brochure. While we were looking for an unusual venue to host a single-performance concert, we checked with William and Kim Madden about the possibility of having the concert presented in their classic car showroom. They very graciously agreed to |
host our "Love! Love! Love!" concert. The showroom is more than 10,000 square feet, but the lower ceiling and the ability to set-up the concert in a smaller section of the showroom added to the intimacy of the performance. |
The photo above shows that site setup for the concert. Knauz Motors positioned a number of classic and vintage cars strategically around the room to add to the excitement of the event. The acoustics were exceptionally good. In the photo at the right, Daniel Heiman, one of the Camerata Singers, is tuning his own harpsichord which he loaned Camerata for use in the concert. |
